Zarif leaves Tehran for Moscow

MNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Moscow to discuss the latest developments in Syria with his Russian and Syrian counterparts Sergy Lavrov and Walid Muallem.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the head of a diplomatic delegation, left Tehran for Moscow early on Friday. Upon arrival in Moscow, he will immediately have a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergy Lavrov, before sharing the table at the trilateral meeting with Lavrov and Muallem.

An announcement made by Iranian ambassador to Moscow, Mehdi Sanie, recounted that immediately after the bilateral meeting the trilateral meeting of Iranian, Russian, and Syrian foreign ministers on the latest developments of Syria will kick off.

The talks will mainly deal withthe military and political situation inSyria, withparticipants set todiscuss trilateral coordination efforts toprevent the situation fromdeteriorating and undermining the Syrian settlement process inthe wake ofUS strikes againstSyrian forces inretaliation forthe alleged Idlib chemical attack, according tothe Russian Foreign Ministry.
