Trade central to Iran-Hungary relations

MNA Parliament speaker has received Hungarian deputy PM to discuss bilateral trade and other matters of mutual interest.

Mr. Ali Larijani received Zsolt Semjn Saturday as part of the Hungarian delegations timetable. Mr. Semjn heads an economic and political delegation which arrived in Tehran earlier in the week. Larijani believed that trade should be central to bilateral relations. "Both sides have an interest in improvement of Parliamentary and economic ties, especially now that conditions have never been conducive to trade with Hungary," said the speaker, "a joint economic commission should address capacities of cooperation after the implementation of JCPOA, notably in industry and trade."

Mr. Lairjani also said that new energies, railroad, ports and agriculture along with the environmental issues constituted priorities for Iran where Hungary could contribute positively; "Banking sector is pivotal to all cooperation and should provide the bedrock for all trade."

Mr. Zsolt Semjn hailed Iran's capacities to absorb Hungarian companies' contribution and possibilities of more improved political relations and trade; "Hungary remained in Iran's side during hard times of the nuclear sanctions and in the EU, we supported positions which would favor Iran," he told the meeting.
"We welcome relations in agriculture and new energies and will work to orchestrate cooperation with Iran, along with efforts to help Iran circumvent restrictions on his banking sector; this will benefit both sides and businessmen," Mr. Semjn briefly said.
