Iran among world big missile powers: Senior MP

Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi

IRNA – Chairman of Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ala’eddin Boroujerdi said on Monday that Iran is currently one of the world’s big missile powers.

Addressing a meeting of the thinkers, victims of Human Rights and Non-Governmental Organizations about instances of violation of human rights by America, Boroujerdi said the reason why the Zionist regime didn’t dare attack Iran’s nuclear facilities like those of Iraq’s was prevalence of culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in Iran.

The global arrogance with the US at its helm is manifestation of corruption and bullying and has nothing but barbarism, he said.

Noting that Yemen is a defenseless and oppressed nation which has come under attack by Saudi Arabia, Boroujerdi said they should be asked whether attacking a defenseless nation is an act of art or infamy?

Saudis initially though that Yemen would collapse within two months, but they have been fighting over two years and currently, Yemeni missiles are striking Saudi Arabia, Boroujerdi said.

Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission further noted that President Bashar Assad stayed alongside his nation despite huge pressures. He was not like Qaddafi and Mubarak. Of course it should be noted that the US’ policies have failed in the sixth year of attack on Syria.

He also said that the US has committed countless crimes during a short period.

The US is not considered an absolute power any longer despite the fact that it is a power in terms of technology, he said.

The meeting of Thinkers ‘Victims of Non-Governmental Organizations’ was attended by representatives from Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain, Yemen, Nigeria and Japan as well as some other Islamic states.
