Tasnim – Iranian national football team’s head coach Carlos Queiroz has ruled out joining South Africa football team.
Queiroz, who has already coached the South African team, told EWN Sport that he “can’t see a short-term decision with regards to this possibility”.
“I am not free and without a mutual agreement it is not possible to cancel my contract (with Iran). Maybe in the near future (the opportunity will present itself) if South Africa still trusts my services,” he wrote.
Coach of the Africa Cup of Nations champion Cameroon Hugo Broos looks to be the only name in contention to replace Shakes Mashaba.
That’s after the initial shortlist also included the likes of Roy Hodgson and Stuart Baxter.
