IAEA board of governors meet to discuss Amano's report

IRNA The five-day meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) started working here in the Austrian capital on Monday.

Review of the latest report released by the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano on the implementation process of the July 2015 deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is on the meetings agenda.

The IAEA Board of Governors meeting is being held behind closed doors without the presence of the reporters.

The Nuclear Safety Review 2017 and Nuclear Technology Review 2017 are also among the issues to be discussed during the five days of deliberations.

In his latest report released in late Feb on Iran, the IAEA chief confirmed that the country has not enriched uranium above 3.67 which is below the enrichment level stressed in the JCPOA, the landmark deal signed between Iran and the six major world powers.

Implementation Day of the JCPOA was announced on January 16, 2016.
