President in Southeastern province to inaugurate development projects

IRNA – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in southeastern province of Sistan-Balouchestan on Tuesday to inaugurate some development projects in the region.

A number of cabinet ministers and high-ranking officials accompany the president.

President Rouhani inaugurated the second runway of the Zahedan International Airport with the length of 4,265 m and width of 60 m.

He will also inaugurate a copper factory, 333 telecommunication projects and an 81-kilometer highway in the region.

The president is scheduled to attend the ground breaking ceremony of Iranshahr-Zahedan gas pipeline project through video conference during his one-day official visit.

The president departs Zahedan for the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, to attend the 13th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit.

The president visits Pakistan upon an official invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
