Irans Foreign Minister slams Trumps immigration ban

Sputnik- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has called the immigration ban of US President Donald Trump "an affront to the entire nation."





MOSCOW (Sputnik) On January 27, Trump signed an executive order barring citizens fromIran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen fromentering the US for90 days. Moreover, the order prohibited refugees fromentering the United States for120 days and barred indefinitely Syrian refugees indefinitely.
"You cannot find any Iranian who has committed a single act ofterror againstAmericans, inany ofthese atrocities that have taken place," Zarif said ina Friday interview withCNN, stressing that "Iran has always condemned every single terrorist incident inthe United States since9/11."


Zarif told CNN that Iranians are amongthe most successful immigrants tothe United States, emphasizing that "in a globalized world you cannot contain threats toone locality."


Trumps executive order has been challenged bythe state ofWashington, which led toa district judge inSeattle issuing a temporary stay onthe executive action. Later, the Ninth US Circuit Court ofAppeals inSan Francisco issued a stay onthe stay.

On Thursday, the Ninth circuit Court suspended proceedings overthe immigration ban saying that Trump was expected toissue a new executive order onthe matter.
