JCPOA gives impetus to Iran-Japan ties

IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) gave a new impetus to the already cordial relations between Iran and Japan by removing some artificial obstacles.

Araqchi made the remarks while addressing a ceremony at the Embassy of Japan in Tehran on Sunday.

He said that Tehran-Tokyo relations were always growing based on mutual respect.

He further noted that expansion of ties is favored by both sides and they are resolved to further boost bilateral relations.

The ceremony was held to honor Iranian professor Nemat Hassani with Japans Order of the Rising Sun for the role he played in promotion of mutual understanding between Iranian and Japanese nations and for his academic researches.

Professor Hassani is the eighth Iranian who received the Order of Rising Sun after the victory of 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Araqchi also hailed Japans government and Emperor for honoring those who contribute to the Japanese culture as well as promotion of its relations with other countries.

Professor Hassanis research works on Japans development are collected in a book titled How Japan Became Japan which was published in 2011.
