Iran favors durable economic cooperation with Europe

IRNA Foreign Minister, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, said on Tuesday that as a reliable and stable partner, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for lasting economic cooperation based on mutual interests with Europe, especially France.

Zarif made the remarks in an address to Iran-France trade seminar, held at Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines.

French Foreign Minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault, who is on a visit to Iran at the head of a 60-member delegation and arrived in Tehran on Monday morning, was also present in the meeting.

Zarif said Iran-France trade has expanded three-fold.

There are many privileges for establishing economic cooperation with Iran but the most important features of the Iranian marketplace can be referred to as its unprecedented security having roots in peoples trust and their role playing in political, economic and technological fields.

The extremist groups have made futile attempts to make Iran insecure, he said, adding that the countrys scientific and economic productivities have been designed to deal with any probable pressure which might be exerted by foreigners.

There are many incentives, which can be defined as rich natural resources, geographical location, transit facilities, highly educated youths, significant scientific breakthrough at national development level, market capability under management for economic crisis have turned Iran to a reliable economic partner mainly for jointly run productions for domestic, regional and international markets, he said.

Tehran is glad to take early steps for production of products in cooperation with France to target foreign markets and this will be to the benefit of both countries, he said.

The two sides are to mull other fields as oil, gas, petrochemical, transportations, transit of goods, science and technology, knowledge-based industry, mineral industries, water development projects and environment to broaden scope of activities between the two sides, Zarif said.

The Iranian foreign ministry is to spare no efforts to prepare grounds for expansion of economic cooperation, investment opportunities and expansion of international cooperation, he said.

Sound implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has removed all barriers set in front of Iranian and French businessmen, he said.
After implementation of the JCPOA, many countries and companies have voiced readiness to play active role in the Iranian marketplace, he said, adding that close cooperation between Iran and France will be very lucrative to them and help bring economic development as well as peace and security to the region and the globe, he said.
