IRNA � President of Mali National Assembly, Issaka Sidib�, on Sunday underlined the need for boosting ties with Iran in various sectors.


Seeing off the Iranian parliamentary delegation, headed by the senior parliament deputy Kazem Jalali, he appreciated active presence of the Iranian delegation in the 12th Summit of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and hailed Jalali�s lectures during various meetings in defense of humanity.

He also hoped that round of the summit will help strengthen cooperation and unity in the Islamic world.

During the see-off ceremony, Jalali also thanked Mali National Assembly for their hospitability and efforts for holding the meeting in the best manner.

Referring to the talks held with Mali officials, Jalali, a member of Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Executive Committee, hoped that mutual dialogues would continue and help boosting cooperation between Iran and Mali.

The 12th Summit of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) opened in Bamako last Monday to discuss the latest developments and challenges facing the Islamic world and establishment of democracy, peace and stability in the Muslim states.

The event ended on Saturday with a statement stressing the need for unity among the Muslim parliaments in line with Islamic Ummah�s participation in creating a secure and stable world.
