Irans Defense Ministry archive launched in Tehran

Tasnim The Defense Ministry of Iran opened an archive of military documents in Tehran that includes records as old as 180 years.

Located on the premises of the Defense Ministry, the document center was inaugurated on Sunday by Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan.

In comments at the opening of the center, Dehqan said the archive includes 3 million paper and digital documents, some of which date back to over 180 years ago.

The document center holds a comprehensive collection of military documents from the Pahlavi dynasty, the Islamic Revolution era, the Sacred Defense Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s- and the countrys defense industry after victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, he noted.

The unique collection of documents in the archives is a rich source for researchers, managers and experts, the minister went on to say.
