MNA – Iran’s Hassan Rouhani has responded to Plasco collapse by issuing a directive which mandates establishment of a National Plasco Report Special Committee.
President Rouhani’s directive assigns to the Special Committee the responsibility to ‘prepare necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future and to reinforce national capabilities in disaster management.’ Mohammad Taghi Ahmadi, President of Tarbiat Modarress University will chair the committee which has among its members distinguished university professors and academics.
The committee, President’s directive demanded, “prepare a national report within 2 months on Plasco building collapse and present it to the public.”
“Plasco building fire and collapse in central busy business part of Tehran clearly indicated the challenges ahead, where similar incidents could provide for the national infrastructures on disaster management and where our national effective measures could take an acid test in handling the crisis,” said the directive. “The Special Committee will elicit the expert opinions of the academia in preparing the Report where clear reasons and causes of the fire and collapse will be addressed along with the ensuing response by the organizations and bodies engaged and necessary administrative and systemic reforms deemed effective in preventing similar incidents in the future.”
