US general policy always been against Iran: MPs

January 25, The Iran Project - Iranian parliamentarians believe that general policies of the United States have always been against the Islamic Republic of Iran and a president change will not alter these policies.

Touching upon Obamas renewing the US national emergency and extending the non-nuclear sanctionsagainst Iran, a number of Iranian lawmakers have wondered whether President DonaldTrump, like other US presidents, acts by the US anti-Iran policies.

Speaking to a reporter on Wednesday, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, a member of the Iranian parliament referred to President Trumps determination to change US foreign policy and diplomacy and said the laws that are currently being processed in the US congress is an introduction to implement US anti-Iran policies in Trumps presidency.

Trumps measure concerning the extension of non-nuclear sanctionsagainst Iran will definitely be in accordance with US laws, he noted.

An Iranian lawmaker, Jalil Rahimi Jahan Abadi, also called Donald Trumps nuclear threats unreliable, saying when the US president calls the nuclear deal stupid, he primarily insults Obama, who signed the agreement.

Even if Trump challenges US policies concerning the JCPOA, US powerful political system does not allow Trumps anti-JCPOA view to impact its policies, Jahan Abadi stressed.

On the other hand, Shahrouz Barzegar, another Iranian lawmaker stated that President Trump is likely to act against Obamas decision to renew the US national emergency and extend the non-nuclear sanctionsagainst Iran, adding we should wait for Trump's foreign policy to be fully determined.

However, Trump and Obamas foreign policy wont be much different, said the Iranian parliamentarian, stressing that Iran, however, is not optimistic to US politicians.
