Iran: Tearing Up N. deal no easy job for Donald Trump

FNA- Iranian Ambassador to London Hamid Baeedinejad, who used to be a member of Iran's negotiating team, underlined that the 2015 nuclear deal is an internationally-endorsed agreement which cannot be easily violated or nixed by new US President Donald Trump.

"We should know that were it easy for Mr. Trump, he would act upon his election campaign's slogan about tearing up the nuclear deal, but they know that the agreement is the result of very hard negotiations and is not a mutual agreement but a multilateral understanding approved by the UN Security Council," Baeedinejad said, addressing a gathering in London on Saturday night.

Stressing that Iran is neither concerned nor excited about the current situation after the presidency of Donald Trump, he said, "At present, we look at the behavior that the US shows and adjust our policies based on that."

He underscored that the Iranian nation and government is now enjoying more calm and tranquility than even some world powers, and the reason is that "we have predicted all scenarios".

Iran and the six world powers held several rounds of talks in Geneva, Lausanne and Vienna before striking a final agreement in Vienna on July 14, 2015, to end a 13-year-old nuclear standoff.

After the agreement, the UN Security Council unanimously endorsed a draft resolution turning into international law the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and the world powers over the Islamic Republics nuclear program.

The White House announced on Friday that the Trump administration intends to develop missile defense system against what it called as attacks from Iran and North Korea.

With regard to Iran, Trump hasspoken out againstthe nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers, promising during his election campaign to rip it up.
