IRNA � Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Thursday to attend the extraordinary session of Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off today.


Zarif upon his arrival was welcomed by Iranian Ambassador to Malaysia Marzieh Afkham and high-ranking foreign ministry officials of the country.

Iran's top diplomat is going to take part and address the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on the Situation of the Rohingya Muslim Minority in Myanmar.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi attended the inauguration ceremony for the one-day OIC extraordinary meeting on behalf of Zarif.

Araqchi accompanied by Marziyeh Afkham Iran's envoy in Kuala Lumpur, earlier in the day, took part in the OIC senior expert meeting participated by representatives from 57 member countries.

The Muslim officials during the meeting reviewed the situation of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar as well as the peace process the Middle East region.
