Fresh Saudi strikes claim 6 lives in northwestern Yemen

Press TV- Saudi military aircraft have killed at least six people in attacks against al-Jawf Province in northwestern Yemen.

The Sunday raids also injured a number of people in the provinces al-Maton District, Yemens al-Masirah television network reported.

Fighter planes also bombed the Haydan district in the neighboring province of Saada as well as the port city of Mokha in the southwestern province of Taiz.

Through the March 2015-present military campaign, Saudi Arabia has been unsuccessfully seeking to return power to Yemens former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

The Yemeni army and allied fighters have been defending the nation against the invasion, which has claimed over 11,400 lives, according to the latest tallies.

They have been launching retaliatory strikes against parts of Saudi territory adjacent to northern Yemen, as well as the gatherings of Riyadh-allied militants inside Yemen.

On Sunday, the Yemeni army staged counteroffensive in Jawf, killing 30 Saudi mercenaries.

The fatalities from the operation, according toal-Masirah, included Ayez Aqlan, a militant commander. Army troops also took eight of the pro-Hadi militants hostage.

Yemens Houthi Ansarullah movement, which has been fighting for the country alongside the army, meanwhile, targeted a Saudi serviceman stationed in the Najran region in southwestern Saudi Arabia.

The condition of the Saudi trooper is yet to be confirmed.
