Kuwait to deliver PGCC message to Iran

IRNA Kuwait Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah has announced that the State of Kuwait would deliver Iran a message on part of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council member States.


In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), released on Thursday, Al-Jarallah said contacts were underway 'with the Iranian brothers to set a proper date to deliver the message.'

He however declined to elaborate on content of the message.

Al-Jarallah had in December and following the PGCC summit, hosted by Bahrain, declared that Kuwait had conveyed an identical message to Iran 'expressing the PGCC States' view regarding the dialogue' with the Islamic Republic.

On prospected opening of a NATO bureau in Kuwait, he underscored significance of such a step, 'which also signals the alliance concern for security of Kuwait and the region.'

The NATO has proposed establishing a center in Kuwait, which has applauded the idea, he said, affirming the country's readiness to open it soon, the Kuwait News Agency reported.

NATO has expressed keenness on promoting the relationship with Kuwait.

The office in Kuwait will be the first of its kind for the alliance abroad. It will serve the country and regional states, with courses, seminars and workshops and aiding interns.

The planned bureau will be result of an initiative taken by Kuwait in 2011 to set it up in the country. It will be specialized for the Istanbul Initiative states, the Kuwait News Agency added.
