Indonesian president condoles death of ex-president

IRNA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo, in a message to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, condoled the demise of former Iranian president and late Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

In his message, the Indonesian president said efforts made by Ayatollah Rafsanjani will remain in minds forever.

He said that Ayatollah Rafsanjani’s departure would be a great loss for the Iranian nation.

Widodo condoled with the Iranian nation and the bereaved family of Ayatollah Rafsanjani on his and Indonesian nation’s behalf.

Ayatollah Rafsanjani, a senior cleric and a veteran politician, died of heart attack at the age of 82 on Sunday, January 8.
