Turkish president condoles demise of Ayat. Rafsanjani

IRNA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sympathized with the Iranian nation and government over death of the late Expediency Council chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

In his message of sympathy to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani and the family of the ayatollah, the Turkish president expressed his deep sadness about the event.

Already, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in a message on Jan 8 on his Twitter page extended his condolences on the demise of late Iranian president who died at the age of 82 on Sunday due to a heart attack at a hospital in north of Tehran.

Body of the late Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani was laid to rest Tuesday at the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic late Imam Khomeini in south of Tehran, while people participated massively in the ceremony.
