IRGC Chief: Upholding social justice Islamic Republics main goal

Tasnim Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari underlined that addressing the needs of the poor and underprivileged is the main duty of the Islamic Republic.

Addressing the deprived and the oppressed and paying attention to their (needs) is the main task of the Islamic Revolution, Major General Jafari said in a speech in an underdeveloped area in the vicinity of Islamshahr, near the capital city of Tehran, on Monday.

The main goal of the Islamic Establishment and the Islamic Republic is to establish social justice, the commander added.

Given the emphasis put by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the issue, the IRGC has taken measures to alleviate deprivation across the country over the past years, he noted.

Back in September the IRGC inaugurated 3,300 projects with the aim of alleviating deprivation.

Also in a visit to the IRGC operational units in the provinces of Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan on August 10, 2016, Major General Jafari said the IRGC plans to engage locals in the process of ensuring security and combat poverty in border areas have proved to be a success.

He explained that one of the IRGCs top priorities has been making efforts to involve local residents in the security process, fight poverty and create jobs in border regions.
