Aleppo liberation hard blow on arrogant powers, says Velayati

IRNA – Liberation of the Syrian city of Aleppo which is a strategic spot in Western Asia, broke the neck of arrogant powers and the United States in the Middle East, says Ali Akbar Velayati Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council.

Speaking to reporters in the provincial capital city of Mashad Monday evening, Velayati described the resistance victory in Aleppo as a turning point in the history of the ongoing wars in the region.

‘Syria establishes the golden link in the chain of resistance against the Zionists and their supporters,’ Velayati said.

‘The West, Zionist regime and their agents, including the Saudis, were considerably hopeful to occupy Aleppo, as by doing so, they could maintain their control over the rest of the region more easily,’ he said.

‘But the forces of the resistance, including Syria and its main allies, Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah, managed to liberate the city of Aleppo and ensure a victory,’ Velayati said.

The Expediency Council member also expressed hope for the resistance to continue winning major victories in Iraq and Syria and for the Iraqi city of Mosul to be liberated soon.
