Moscow, Tehran ready to establish joint venture to churn out helicopters

Sputnik- Tehran and Moscow are likely to establish a joint venture on manufacturing helicopters in Iran.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russia and Iran are aboutto start a joint venture onmanufacturing helicopters asIranian market welcomes Russian production, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, Iran's Minister ofIndustry, Mine and Trade, said Tuesday.

"We are ready toestablish a joint venture onmanufacturing helicopters inIran, our market has a positive attitude towardRussian production," Nematzade said, asquoted onthe Russian Energy Ministry's Twitter.

Earlier onTuesday, Russian Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Georgy Kalamanov said Iran and Russia had been discussing production and supplies of Ansat and Ka-226 helicopters. Ansat, multipurpose light twin-engine turbine helicopter, can be used forthe carriage ofgoods and passengers, aswell asfor surveillance, search and rescue missions and medical evacuation.
