MFA offers condolences to Pakistan

MNABahram Ghasemi, the Spokesperson of Irans Foreign Ministry offered condolences to the people and government of Pakistan over the deadly air-crash of Wednesday.


The Spokesman of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Bahram Ghasemi, voiced deep regret over the deadly crash of a Pakistani passenger plane on Wednesday which claimed the lives of 42 passengers and five crew members on board. The diplomat offered condolences to the government and people of the friendly and brotherly neighbor country of Pakistan. He also offered sympathies to the bereaved families of the sorrowful accident.

Destined to the capital city of Islamabad, the small twin-propeller plane, an ATR-42, took off, on Wednesday, from Chitral, a scenic mountain resort city and some minutes later one of its engines failed and crashed in the hillside village of Gug near Abbottabad in northern Pakistan.

Formerly, in 2012, another Pakistani flight by Bhoja Air, a private carrier, crashed outside Islamabad, killing 127 people.The Boeing 737236 aircraft, flying from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, crashed in bad weather during its approach to Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad.
