Iran attends Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia
IRNA Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour attended the ninth Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) that started in Nusa Dua, Indonesia, on Thursday.


The Bali forum follows the theme of 'Religion, Democracy and Pluralism' this year.

The Iranian official is to address the two-day international event to elaborate on Tehran's views about global peace and the fight against terrorism and extremism.

According to the United Nation website, the BDF is an annual event initiated by Indonesia in 2008, It is an inclusive and open intergovernmental forum on the development of democracy in the Asia Pacific region.

The forum is aimed to promote and foster regional and international cooperation in the field of peace and democracy through dialogue-based on sharing experiences and best practices that adhere to the principle of equality, mutual respect and understanding, with the participating countries sharing its ownership.
