Delegation of major Austrian energy companies en route to Tehran

Shana Austria's OMV as well as other major energy companies are visiting Tehran next week to explore avenues for bolstering ties with Iranian partners in energy and economic grounds.

An energy committee between Iran and Austria is being held in order to the two countries to assess the road map to mutual cooperation in energy and economic fields.
The Austrian delegation will meet with Deputy Iranian Petroleum Minister in International Affair and Trading Amir Hossein Zamaninia on Saturday to discuss issues regarding preservation of the environment and gas export to Europe.

Optimization of fuel consumption, investment in oil and gas projects, and cooperation in exploration, development, training, research, academic areas will also be discussed during the three-day visit of the Austrian delegation to Tehran.
The delegation will also visit gas storage facilities in Qom, Tehran refinery and the Research Center of Petroleum Industry (RIPI).

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and OMV inked an MoU in May for studies over hydrocarbon traps in salt domes in western Zagros and the Persian Gulf.
