Daesh plants bombs in copies of Quran near Mosul

Sputnik- ISIS terrorists have planted bombs in copies of the Quran before leaving them on the streets and in front of houses in Kanous, a village close to the Iraqi city of Mosul, the Iran Front Page has reported.

Resorting toguerilla deception is nothing new forDaesh, according toIFP, which has targeted Sunnis, Shias, Kurds, Christians, and many others. The village ofKanous has sincebeen liberated bythe Iraqi army, according toreports.

Earlier Monday, the US-led coalition againstDaesh conducted five airstrikes tosoften the terror groups forces nearMosul, according toan announcement fromthe Operation Inherent Resolve joint task force. The Mosul strikes reportedly eliminated seven mortar systems, four Daesh-held buildings, two vehicles, and a front-end loader while engaging four tactical units, according tothe news release. The airstrikes also damaged 31 supply routes.

"Coalition military forces conducted 10 strikes coordinated withand insupport ofthe Government ofIraq using attack, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft," againstDaesh targets inIraq, the report added. Over the weekend, the coalition ofover 60 nations also launched 11 airstrikes onstrategic targets inSyria, destroying oil assets, mortar systems, and a weapons production facility.
