'The Salesman' in list of WAFCA Best Foreign Language Films

MNA The Washington DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) selected Iran's 'The Salesman' in its list of Best Foreign Language Film.


Directed by Asghar Farhadi, The Salesman was selected as one of the five Best Foreign Language Films. Elle, Julieta, The Handmaiden and Toni Erdmann are four rivals of the film in the list of WAFCA.

The 2016 WAFCA Award winners will be announced at 8AM ET on Monday, December 5, 2016.

Asghar Farhadis Cannes award-winner drama The Salesman which has been chosen to represent Iran at the 2017 Academy Awards, was named by the US National Board of Review as the best foreign language film of the year.

The Iranian drama tells the story of Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti), a couple who are part-time actors playing Willy and Linda Loman in a Tehran production of Arthur Millers 'Death of a Salesman', when an intruder in their new home shakes this marriage to its core.
