MOSCOW (Sputnik)�� The International Conference on�Nuclear Security: Commitments and Actions organized by�the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) kicks off�in Vienna, Austria on�Monday. "The conference is being convened to�discuss the national and international community's experiences and achievements to�date in�strengthening nuclear security; to�enhance understanding of�current approaches to�nuclear security worldwide; to�identify trends; to�provide an inclusive forum at�which ministers, policy makers, senior officials and nuclear security experts can formulate and exchange views on�future directions and priorities for�nuclear security and how these may evolve," the IAEA said in�a statement.

The conference, which is set to�last through�Friday, will consist of�two main parts�� a ministerial segment and a scientific and technical division. The first part will conclude with�the adoption of�a Ministerial Declaration.

The 2016 event follows the successful International Conference on�Nuclear Security: Enhancing Global Efforts held in�the Austrian capital in�July 2013. The 2013 conference was attended by�over 1,300 registered participants from�125 member states, 34 of�which were represented at�ministerial level, and 21 intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations.
