Heart of Asia conference ends with 33-point final statement
IRNA The sixth conference of Hear of Asia ended its work in India on Sunday issuing a 33-point final statement which called on world community to continue support for establishment of peace in Afghanistan and urged the need to fight against any kind of terrorism.

The two-day conference was held in the city of Amritsar in India's Punjab state aiming at broadening of cooperation to help resolve and improve the security conditions of Afghanistan.

It was participated by representatives of over 30 member-states and sponsors of the conference and over 10 international and regional institutes.

Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif represented Tehran in the event.

He reiterated Tehrans support for peace in Afghanistan.

Signatories of the final statement expressed concern over gravity of the security situation in Afghanistan in particular, and the region and the high level of violence caused by Taliban, terrorist groups including DAESH and its affiliates.

Terrorism is the biggest threat to peace, stability and cooperation in the region, said the statement while strongly calling for concerted regional and international cooperation to ensure elimination of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Participants of the Heart of Asia conference also said that they commend countries in the region and beyond, particularly Iran and Pakistan, for their hospitality in hosting millions of Afghan refugees for over three decades.

They referred to terrorism, radicalization, separatism and sectarianism and linkages among them are the greatest challenges of the Heart of Asia region.

They also stressed that efforts to eliminate the menace of terrorism and violent extremism will not succeed without a concerted and coherent regional approach involving all Heart of Asia countries.
