Iran criticizes Djibouti president for illusory, miscalculated remarks

IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Friday criticized Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh for illusory and miscalculated remarks alleging Iranian interference in Djibouti affairs.

He made the remarks in reaction to Djibouti president's irrelevant accusation about Iran's regional policy.

Qasemi accused Djibouti president of following lead of other states to bring accusation against Iran because of failure of Djibouti government to adopt independent policy.

'Such provocative approach will drive the region to chaos.'

He said that Djibouti president has got far away from reality on the ground in the region repeating illusory remarks detrimental to the international resolve to restore peace and security in the region including Syria, Yemen and Bahrain.

The Djibouti president should learn a lesson from the history of the world and the region and take a realistic approach and avoid following others' lead, Qasemi said.
