18,000 police officers deployed in Shalamcheh, Chazabe borders

IRNA Police Chief of Khuzestan province Brigadier General Mohammadreza Eshaqi said that over 18,000 police officers have been deployed in the roads leading to Shalamcheh and Chazabe borders.

He made the remarks in Shalamche border point in Khuzestan province while checking the situation of Iranian pilgrims crossing the border.

He said that the traffic is semi-heavy on the roads leading to Shalamcheh and Chazabe borders.

He recommended that those drivers who pass Shalamcheh and Chazabe borders should drive at the speed limit and follow the security tips.

It has been predicted that about 1 million pilgrims would pass through Shalamcheh border.

Over 2 million Iranians have traveled to Karbala in Iraq to take part in mourning ceremonies to be held there on Sunday to mark the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Imam of Shia Muslims.
