Trump victory unlikely to turn Pakistan away from Russia, Iran, China

Sputnik- US-Pakistani realtions won't be changed in the wake of Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election, member of the National Assembly of Pakistan Mian Abdul Mannan told Sputnik on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) A change ofadministration inthe United States would make a marginal difference inthe US-Pakistani relations and unlikely tochange Islamabads course oncloser engagement withthe neighboring countries including Russia, China and Iran, Mannan said.

"There would be no drastic changes tothe US-Pakistani relations asTrump will be controlled and monitored, including byPentagon, asyou know. US policy is not made byone person butmaintained bythe US institutions. Pakistan has recently shifted its attention tothe neighboring countries such asChina, Russia and India and unlikely tochange this course," Mannan said.

He noted that many Pakistanis have reservations aboutDonald Trump persona overhis anti-Muslim election rhetorics. Trump won the US presidential elections with289 electoral votes againstDemocratic candidate Hillary Clinton's 218 votes.
