Iran condemns terrorist attack against German mission in Mazar Sherif

IRNA Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi condemned terrorist attack against German consulate in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, as a savage act.

According to the Iranian foreign ministry, he said the brutal behavior reaffirms the need for a global consensus and collective efforts by all governments and nations as well as the global clear consciousness to wage a ceaseless and frank campaign against such horrendous tragedies.

He said vigorously slammed the terrorist blast in front of the German mission in the Afghan city which killed and wounded tens of defenseless citizens.

The spokesman further expressed condolences to the survivors of the incident and reiterated the historic and sensitive responsibility of global community in confronting spread of terrorism by savage Takfiri groups.

He described attacks against diplomatic missions in Afghanistan as clear signs of connections between terrorist groups with the enemies of Afghanistans nation and said the terrorist groups and their supporters were seemingly seeking to increase the presence of alien forces in the country.

The foreign ministry official also highlighted the immunity of diplomatic corps around the world and reminded that Irans chief consular office was the first one to be attacked in Mazar-e Sharif in 1998 by terrorist groups which led to martyrdom of a number of Iranian reporters, diplomats and missions staff members.

Qasemi said todays attack underscores the fact that terrorism has no boundaries and recognizes no nations and locations as exceptions.
