Arbaeen, religious ritual, token of Muslim Unity

IRNA– Member of the Experts Assembly Mohsen Esmaeili said the religious ritual of Arbaeen procession, being held by millions of Muslims in Karbala, Iraq, every year is token of the Muslim solidarity against common enemy.

Esmaeili made the remarks in a meeting with organizers of Arbaeen (to mark end of the 40-day mourning period after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Imam of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Infallible Household, in an unequal battle in 680 AD).

He said Arbaeen is a political and worshipping ritual being observed by Muslims.

He said the procession being held in Karbala, Iraq, strengthens unity among the Shia Muslims.
