Financial Tribune- The eighth meeting of Iran-Russia Comprehensive Transport Committee concludes in Tehran on Wednesday.

During the three-day event, transport executives and officials from the two countries discussed ways of expanding cooperation in road, rail, marine and air transportation, Iran�s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development�s news service reported. Major topics on the agenda include facilitation of visa issuance procedures for Iranian sailors and truck drivers, electrification of the Garmsar-Inche Borun railroad in northern Iran and construction of Qazvin-Rasht railroad as part of the International North-South Transport Corridor.

A representative of Russia�s state-run rail holding Russian Railways announced at the Tehran meetings that the company is planning to open an office in Iran.
