MP hails Iran's market share revival success

TEHRAN, Oct 30 (Shana) MP from Tehran Ali-Reza Mahjoub says Iran wrestled to succeed in reviving its oil market share.

"Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh resisted to revive the market," said Mahjoub in an interview with Shana.

He said Zanganeh's agenda is resistance to revive the lost share in the oil markets.

He added that Iran had adopted a tough stance to revive the share, while always supporting increase in OPEC prices.

"When making such a decision, Minister of Petroleum did know that prices might temporarily or lightly decrease, but government took the move to bring to notice of the OPEC members two points: Iran's might and the OPEC Charter."

The MP said Iran's stance prevented greediness of certain countries like Saudi Arabia and naturally, success of the Minister of Petroleum in oil and energy set as achievements of the Islamic Republic system.

Spokesman of the Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Hossein Naqavi Hosseini had told Shana recently that government had in the past three years managed to revove Iran's lost share in the oil market.

Hosseini said full revival of Iranian share in the oil market will serve as a requisite for Iran's playing an effective role in the oil market, so that the influence of the country will grow in the international forums.
