Ukraine keen on agricultural, industrial cooperation with Iran

Moscow, Oct 29, IRNA - Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stephan Kobiv on Saturday called for enhanced cooperation with Iran in the fields of energy, agriculture and industry.


He made in a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour in Kiev.

He voiced his country's readiness for promoting ties with Iran in all fields including agriculture, industry and energy.

Preparing the ground for boosting activities of the two countries' merchants in commercial exchanges, joint investment, promoting infrastructure and standardization of products are the areas for cooperation, the Ukrainian official said.

He underlined the need to develop cooperation on science and technology, produce medicines, aerospace as well as compiling roadmap for cooperation and regulating the rules and procedure to boost ties.

Rahimpour, for his part, voiced Iran's preparedness for developing economic relations with Ukraine in various fields.

He called for efforts to remove obstacles in the way of promoting economic cooperation.

During his three-day visit to Kiev, Rahimpour conferred with the country's senior officials including Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.
