Iranian, Russian energy ministers may meet at OPEC talks in November

The Iranian oil minister may meet the Russian energy minister on November 30 in Vienna during the OPEC talks, Tehran's ambassador told Sputnik.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh may hold talks withRussian Energy Minister Alexander Novak inVienna onthe sidelines ofthe upcoming Organization ofthe Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) negotiations onNovember 30, Irans Ambassador toMoscow told Sputnik onTuesday. "The ministers have recently met inAlgeria. Perhaps, they will meet inVienna, possibilities ofconsultations onsome level are not ruled out. In general, contacts betweenthe ministries ofenergy and oil ofRussia and Iran are developing," Mehdi Sanaei said.

On September 28, OPEC member states reached an agreement onthe sidelines ofan international energy forum inAlgeria toset a production ceiling of32.5-33 million barrels per day. OPEC also decided toestablish a technical committee toidentify the production volume ofindividual member countries.

The OPEC countries are set tofinalize the agreement onoil output freeze atthe Vienna summit. Other oil producing states, who are not members ofOPEC, including Russia, are also expected touphold the agreement, aimed atstabilizing the oil market.
