Iran, EU to hold 2nd phase of talks in Brussels

TEHRAN (ISNA) –Iran and the EU are expected to hold the second phase of negotiations in Brussels in coming weeks.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi and the EU Foreign Policy Deputy Chief Helga Schmid would be in charge of the meeting.

The second round of the talks would target high-ranking officials from both sides, where mostly ministers of different sectors will discuss concerning issues.

Iranian foreign minister Moahmmad aJavad Zarif and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini met here in Iran, where both sides stressed the importance of broadening cooperation between Iran and EU.

Mogherini had stated that both sides enjoy commonalities in various sectors including culture, adding the EU is seeking new chapter in opening ties with Iran.
