TEHRAN (FNA)- Abdel Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of Rai al-Youm newspaper, underlined that the operations underway to retake Mosul and Aleppo will end in Iran's interest, while terrorism will spread to Turkey as one of the main sponsors of the terrorist groups in Syria.

"The two big powers, that is the US and Russia, are fighting to help Iran's allies and they are serving Iran's strategic interests while it seems that the Arabs have been marginalized and dont play a constructive role," Atwan wrote on Monday.

"The Russian allies of Iran have entered the war in Aleppo and have mobilized all their military power to win the battle which has paved the ground for the Syrian forces' advance towards Eastern Aleppo; also the Iraqi allies of Iran have started the war to liberate Mosul and drive out the ISIL terrorists from the region with the help of the US fighter jets," he said, stressing that it is Iran which will come out of the two battles victorious.

Atwan also referred to Turkey's policies and its falling into the quagmire of Syria war by supporting the terrorists and plots to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad, and said, "Turkey will experience the same fate as Syria since it played a big role, beside others, in exporting terrorism to Syria."

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani underlined in August that the military, intelligence and political alliance formed among Tehran, Moscow and Damascus has defused the US strategy of procrastination in anti-terrorism operations in Syria.

"The close coordination among Iran, Russia and Syria in conducting the recent operations against the Takfiri terrorists in Syria brought into failure the US protracting strategy for imposing its will on the security equations in Syria," Shamkhani said.

Stressing that the western and Saudi media's psychological war against increased cooperation among Iran, Russia and Syria is aimed at diverting attention from the heavy failure of their allies in Palmyra (Tadmur), Idlib, Lattakia and Aleppo, he said, "Certain western and Arab countries which have the illusion of changing the regional equations, have been paralyzed by the Islamic Republic's political, defensive and security initiative in the recent operations."

Shamkhani dismissed certain imprecise views on anti-terrorism cooperation between Tehran and Moscow, and said, "The all-out relations between Iran and Russia which are based on the national interests and within the framework of strategic cooperation are not merely limited to the fight against terrorism and have more extensive aspects."
