IRGC commander highlights Irans acknowledged regional clout

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran has amassed so much regional influence that leaves the other countries with no other option than consulting with Tehran to settle the conflicts, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said.

The Islamic Iran has such status today that even the other countries admit that they have to negotiate with Iran in order to determine the fate of the regional countries, including Syria, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari announced at a cultural ceremony in Tehran on Friday.

Highlighting the significant impact of Iran and its heroic defense against the 8-year Iraqi imposed war on West Asia, the general said the Israeli regime could have expanded several times without the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic resistance movement.

A review of the policies adopted by the enemies, mainly the US and the Zionist regime, reveals that all their plots have ended in failure and backfired, the top commander explained.

In comments in June, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei also pointed to enemys plots against regional countries and the importance of West Asia to the US, saying the presence of Islam and Muslims, huge oil resources, waterways and the Zionist regime of Israel make the region important to the enemy.

Their plot against the region is what they raised a few years ago as the formation of a New Middle East or the Greater Middle East, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

However, the US plots in regional countries, like Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine, were not materialized due to Irans resistance, the Leader added.
