Iran calls US election ineffective in JCPOA

TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iran's deputy foreign minister for European and American Affairs said the US presidential elections would not affect the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated that the nuclear dear is the US international commitment, which has been confirmed by the UN Security Council.

JCPOA is the result of talks between 7 countries and as a matter of fact it is not an agreement that can be changed by one partys comments, said Iranian official.

He went on to say that the US government has already failed to commit to its obligations in JCPOA, noting Iran would not accept any shortcoming in this regard.

It makes no difference to us who becomes the next president, Takht-Ravanchi underlined.
He reiterated that Iran would seriously pursue the issue if the US government continues acting against its promises.
