US, Britain on the frontline of Saudi crimes against humanity in Yemen

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA Tehran Friday Prayers leader Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said that Saudi leaders perpetrated crimes against humanity in Yemen and that British and the US governments share the responsibility with the Saudi leaders for supplying weapons and intelligence.

He made the remarks in the second sermon of the Friday prayers.

Ayatollah Khatami said that Saudi fighters deliberately bombarded a single building four times in Yemen and killed more than 400 people some of them are totally burned and only their skeleton remained. The target of the bombardment was venue for a memorial service

The senior cleric said that US and British governments are on frontline of the Saudi crimes against humanity, because one day before the bombardment, the Saudi and British were negotiating 50 billion dollars contract for arms sale and the British state public broadcasting downgraded the extent of the heinous airstrikes on Yemen saying that only 50 people were killed by the Saudi bombardment, and they were the members of Ansarullah.

The Friday prayers leader said that the US government is helping Saudi government with intelligence gathered by US drones in the past 18 months and as matter of fact the US and British governments are accomplice in violation of the the International Law by the Saudi aggression on Yemen.

During the 18-month bombardment on Yemen more than 10,000 people have been martyred, and more than 1,000 of them were kids.

The Friday prayers leader criticized the international human rights organizations for keeping silent toward the Saudi crimes against humanity in Yemen.

'In much of the Saudi war crimes, they kept silent. It is evident they do not care neither for human beings nor for human rights,' Khatami added.

He said that former UN secretary general only condemned verbally the crimes, but when Saudi government was supposed to be called as war criminal, he cancelled the name of the Saudi leaders from the list of the child killers for considerations about the money the Saudi government was expected to pay to the United Nations.

He said that the United Nations has been unsuccessful to discharge its duty to restore peace and security in the international community and the UN is currently dependent on the hegemonic powers, so nations should establish a real United Nations.

At the first 4-day of airstrikes, the Saudi military commanders denied the massacre to avoid international outcry, but, were forced to admit they perpetrated crimes against humanity after the Yemeni people brought evidences to prove the Saudi airstrikes.

Meanwhile, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami deplored the terrorist operations of bombing in mosques in Afghanistan and Nigeria.
