Hanoi, Oct 6, IRNA � Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Secretary General of Vietnam Communist Party Nguyen Fu Trong met here on Thursday.


President Rouhani and secretary general of Vietnam's communist party discussed the broadening of mutual cooperation.

The Vietnamese official voiced his pleasure in President Rouhani's visit to Hanoi.

President Rouhani arrived in Hanoi on Oct. 5 leading a high ranking political and economic delegation on the first leg of his regional tour to South-East Asian nations which will later take him to Malaysia and Thailand respectively.

Earlier in the day, President Rouhani and his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang held a meeting during which the Iranian president hoped that his three-day visit to Vietnam will be a turning point for Tehran-Hanoi relations.
