Leader's Top Aide: Special board monitoring JCPOA implementation

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Supreme Leader's top adviser for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati underlined that a special board is now regularly keeping an eye to make sure that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is being properly implemented and also to report western countries' violations.

"The board overseeing the implementation of the JCPOA convenes regularly with President Hassan Rouhani attending it and examining the implementation of the deal," Velayati told reporters.

The Supreme Leader's top aide reiterated that Iran has adhered to it commitments from the beginning and if the other side wants the trend takes its course, it should also observe its commitments.

In relevant remarks in early September, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi announced that a special board had been commissioned to deal with the US violations concerning its commitments to properly implement the JCPOA.

"We are currently working on a list of violations and infringements by the US from the nuclear agreements," Takht Ravanchi told reporters.

He said that since the day Tehran and the six world powers (the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, France and Germany) reached an agreement, the Iranian Board of JCPOA has precisely monitored to what extent the parties to JCPOA honored their commitments.

Also in mid-August, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined that a Joint Commission would hold a session soon to discuss the US disloyalty to the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

"We will have another session of the Joint Commission to discuss the US violation of commitments and some other issues in the near future," Zarif told reporters.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that the commission has convened whenever deemed necessary, and said, "Necessary solutions to problems have always been worked out during the meetings."

Earlier in August, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and senior negotiator Seyed Abbas Araqchi warned the US and other world powers against breaching the contents of the nuclear deal signed with Tehran last year.

"There are still some laggings, negligence and disloyalty by the other side and we confront them very strongly and remind the other side of its responsibilities," Araqchi said after meeting the Iranian legislators in Tehran.

Stressing that Iran will pursue and act against any shortcomings and lagging of the world powers in implementing the nuclear deal, he said that if needed, the legal procedures stated in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the nuclear deal) will be paved (in case of facing the other sides' violation of the agreement).
