Iranian Interior Minister due in Baku tomorrow

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli plans to start an official visit to neighboring Azerbaijan Republic on Monday to hold talks with senior officials of the country on issues of mutual interests.

Iran's Deputy Interior Minister Babak Dinparast said Rahmani Fazli is slated to arrive in Baku on Monday to meet with high-ranking Azeri officials and discuss ways to boost bilateral relations between the two neighbors.

He further expressed the hope that the two-day visit to Azerbaijan will be a milestone in Tehran-Baku cooperation in all areas.

In a high-profile ceremony in Baku in August, senior officials from Iran and Azerbaijan signed six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to promote mutual cooperation in various fields.

The ceremony was attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev. Cabinet ministers and senior officials from the two neighboring countries signed the documents.
