Iran sees no limit to developing defense power: Shamkhani

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Secretary of Irans Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani hailed the recent achievements of the Armed Forces in missile and drone fields, saying there is no restriction for the country to boost its defense might.

The experiences gained during the Sacred Defense (the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s) and from the cruel sanctions that had deprived the Islamic Republic of its legitimate right to defend itself against the aggressor taught Iran that without boosting indigenous defense capability, there would be no sustainable security in the country, Shamkhani said on Saturday.

He further emphasized that the recent achievements of the Armed Forces, including the manufacturing of military drones, have been reached despite severe sanctions against the country.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has proven that in order to develop its defense power, it knows no bounds, the official went on to say.

Shamkhani made the remarks in a visit to an exhibition of drones manufactured by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force.

Iranian military technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republics defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
