Tehran, Sept 22, IRNA � Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a message on the occasion of Sacred Defense Week honored the martyrs of 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war against Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei paid commemorated the martyrs of the Sacred Defense in a message which honors soldiers who were killed in the fight against the enemy in the war.

The message honored the memories of anonymous warriors of the Sacred Defense as the resplendent sources of light who bestowed light upon the lives of their compatriots through spirituality.

�Praise be upon the compassionate God who in our times, epitomized the sublime concept of martyrdom in our warriors and attracted zealous hearts to embrace the concept and now these resplendent source of light have bestowed our lives with light and spirituality; insightful hearts and keen eyes would receive blessings from them and enrich their provisions in the road toward modern Islamic civilization,� part of Ayatollah Khamenei's message read.
