London, Sept 16, IRNA � Head of Iran Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said on Thursday evening that Tehran is committed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and expects the other side to do the same and urgently lift economic sanctions.


Salehi made the remarks in the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) in London on Thursday.

After final nuclear deal in Vienna, the IAEA has issued two reports evidencing Iran's commitment to its pledges on nuclear related activities, he said.

The other side should also remain committed to its commitments; otherwise, the situation will be of double standard nature as one side has fully carried out its pledges while the other side constantly tries to find faults, he said.

'We expect the other side to promptly carry out its duties in lifting economic sanctions imposed against the country,' Salehi said.
'We exercise patience and avoid showing prompt response to the negligence of the other side,' Salehi said.

'If all sides are responsible in dealing with their affairs, all hostilities will end and there will be a safer world,' he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Salehi referred to abortive and hostile policies of Washington in the region and said such policies are root cause of insecurity and instability in Iran's neighborhood.

Imposing severe economic sanctions against Iran is among wrong policies of the Whitehouse, Salehi said, adding that however, Iran attended nuclear talks with more authority and called for reaching a compressive agreement to that end.

The Islamic republic of Iran is to remain committed to its pledges and is not to violate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as advised by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Salehi said.

On probable violation of the JCPOA by the next US president, he said the JCPOA is not a personal issue and the upcoming US president should remain committed to international rules and regulations.
'If the US wishes to experience another approach, it will be very costly,' Salehi said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is not to accept any new inspection from its nuclear sites in addition to those mentioned in mutual agreement, he said.

'Pressures mounted to nuclear negotiators are very high but under such circumstances these affairs are underway, he said adding that we move forward with rationality and avoid taking hasty reactions,' he said.
On recent stands adopted by Saudi Arabia with regards to Iran, he said regretfully, the new Saudi government acts irrationally.
