Iranians to hold nationwide rallies to condemn Saudi crimes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iranian people will hold nationwide rallies across the country on Friday to condemn the ongoing Saudi crimes on the first anniversary of last year's deadly Mina crush of people.

According to a statement by Irans Coordination Council of Islamic Propagation, Iranian worshipers will hold major rallies across the country after Friday prayers to slam the ongoing Saudi atrocities in the region.

The upcoming nationwide demonstrations will be held on the occasion of the first anniversary of a deadly crush during last year's Hajj rituals in the Saudi city of Mina during which over 7,000 pilgrims, including 465 Iranians, were killed, it added.

The statement added that the protesters will also condemn Bahrains Al Khalifa regime for revoking the citizenship of senior Shiite cleric Sheikh Isa Qassim as well as ongoing crackdown on innocent people of the tiny Persian Gulf country.

The Ongoing Saudi crimes against the Yemeni people will be also slammed at the rallies.

It further said that the rallies will be organized following recent remarks made by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in condemnation of murderous Saudi regime over the deadly Mina crush.

In a message to the Hajj pilgrims posted on the Leader's official website on Monday, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the ritual pilgrimage as a heavenly, earthly, divine and communal obligation.

Elsewhere in his comments, Imam Khamenei pointed to last years Mina crush, and said, Several thousand families from different countries lost their loved ones and their nations were bereaved. From the Islamic Republic, close to five hundred people were among the martyrs. The hearts of their families are still broken and bereaved and our people remain grief-stricken and angry.

Instead of apology and remorse and judicial prosecution of those who were directly at fault in that horrifying event, Saudi rulers- with utmost shamelessness and insolence- refused to allow the formation of an international Islamic fact-finding committee.

Ayatollah Khamenei further stressed, "The world of Islam, including Muslim governments and peoples, must familiarize themselves with the Saudi rulers and correctly understand their blasphemous, faithless, dependent and materialistic nature. They must not let those rulers escape responsibility for the crimes they have caused throughout the world of Islam."
